  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning
  • 1 15 ounce can Diced Tomatoes (with green chilies) undrained
  • 6 cups Tortilla Chips crushed
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Lettuce shredded
  • 1/2 cup Diced Onion

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and diced tomatoes. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread half of the crushed tortilla chips.
  • Layer the beef mixture over the chips, followed by half of the shredded cheese, sour cream, lettuce and diced onion.
  • Repeat layers with remaining chips, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, and onion.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add other taco toppings like jalapenos, black olives, or different types of cheese. For a spicier casserole, use a hotter taco seasoning or add some chopped jalapenos.
