  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 medium head Green cabbage shredded (about 8 cups)
  • 1 15 ounce can Diced tomatoes undrained
  • 1 10.75 ounce can Cream of mushroom soup condensed
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes (undrained), cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

For a spicier casserole, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. You can also substitute other cheeses, such as Monterey Jack or Colby Jack, for the cheddar cheese.
